The exclusive Sunningdale Village resort is conveniently located on Golf Del Sur just 10 minutes from the airport. There’s a taxi rank outside the airport or, alternatively, if you wish to hire a car, this can be done prior to your holiday or you can arrange car hire at the airport on your arrival. Within easy walking distance are bowls (at nearby Winter Garden) which has one of the best all weather bowling greens; golf, putting, bars and restaurants.
The popular tourist centre of Los Cristianos and the lively nightlife of Playa Las Americas are also just a 15 minute drive away. Local buses provide a good service to Santa Cruz and other local towns. The precinct of San Blas is only a few minutes walk from the villa with facilities including bars, restaurants, car rental, hair and beauty salon, banks and a supermarket, plus many other varied shops and should you ever need them a doctor and dentist.
Close by is the fishing village of Los Abrigos, well known for its excellent seafood restaurants and El Medano beach which holds the World Windsurfing Championships.
In Amarilla Golf there is a marina for boat rental, jet skis and diving. Golf del Sur beach and coastal promenade are a few minutes walk away. Alternatively the sandy beaches of El Medano, Los Christianos, Fanabe and El Duque are just a ten minute drive away or you can drive north to the beautiful Las Terisitas beach. The new San Miguel marina is only five minutes walk away. Golf Del Sur is one of the biggest and best golf courses in Tenerife. It has 27 holes and a wealth of natural features to test the keenest golfer. Pepe Gancedo designed the original course in 1987 but in 2005 top Spanish player Manuel Pinero gave it a facelift, converting the Links into par 36 and making it the full Championship Course it is today. Each of the three courses offers its own particular set of challenges.
POPULAR ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS
Besides golf there are plenty of other activities and attractions in the area to keep you occupied if you can pull yourself off of the sun lounger. For the adventurer, how can you ignore Mount Teide! The tallest mountain in Spain is surrounded by a national park and forest. You don’t even have to walk to the summit if you don’t want to as you can drive / take transport to capture the breath taking views.
A holiday in Golf del Sur has plenty to offer adults but it’s also got great places to take children. Jungle Park is full of exotic animals and Sian Park is a must.
You can even set sail around the whole island in a day, admiring the majestic Mount Teide as you go or if you have more time on your hands, a visit to some of the other Canary Islands is possible.
Scuba diving in Tenerife is available all year round and it’s also possible in Tenerife to dive and swim with dolphins and even feed the rays..
